SWEDISH ROCK BAND THE HIVES TO HEADLINE FRIDAY NIGHT PLUS SLOW READERS CLUB, THE DUALERS & MORE ADDED TO MAIN STAGES & FULL LINE-UPS REVEALED FOR THE BIMBLE INN, REBEL TENT AND COMEDY Monochrome five piece The Hives will headline Friday night at Beautiful Days. The unconventional Swedish rockers, whose hits including ‘Hate To Say I Told You So’, ‘Tick Tick Boom’ and ‘Walk Idiot Walk’, are renowned for their unmissable and energetic live show. Also added to the Main Stage bill are Manchester band Slow Readers Club whose latest studio album stormed the UK Top 20 on release in May, plus London blues band The Dualers and South West rock band Tax The Heat. Completing the Big Top line-up are guitarist Richard Durrant, 4-piece Indie-Americana group Carousel, Kitty MacFarlane and Curse of Lono. The Bimble Inn’s 2018 musical line-up will include Black Water County, Brickwork Lizards, GU-RU, Huw Eddy & The Carnival, Jake Morrell, Jamie Freeman, Little Unsaid, Mag Dog Mcrea, Naomi Bedford & Paul Simmons, Novatines, Oh Mama, Reverend Ike’s Sunday Soul Service, Stella Martyr, The Adventures Of…, The Embers, The Lagan and Vibe Machine. The Rebel Tent will host discussions, talks, panels and Q&As throughout the weekend including ‘The USA vs Me’ with internet activist Lauri Love, ‘Corbyn, Palestine and Labour’ with Jewish Voice for Labour members Jackie Walker & Leah Levane, ’21st Century Socialism in Venezuela’ with Venezuela Solidarity Campaign spokesperson Teresa Teran, ‘The Global Battle for LGBT Rights’ with human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, ‘War, Media and Propaganda’ with a panel including former UK Ambassador to Syria Peter Ford, Vanessa Beeley, Patrick Heningsen & Piers Robinson plus former UK Ambassador to Uzbekistan Craig Murray discusses ‘The New Cold War’. ‘Syria – What is to be Done?’ is the topic for discussion with Peter Tatchell, Peter Ford, Vanessa Beeley & Hilary Wainwright and then ‘A New Politics from the Left’ will be panel debate for Hilary Wainwright, Rachel Shabi, Alex Nunns, Chris Williamson MP and finally ‘Human Impact on Climate Change’ is the topic for physicist and meteorologist Piers Corbyn (older brother of Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn) & Richard Betts. They will be providing free refills of filtered, chilled water for all festival-goers who choose to buy either a Frank Water wristband (if you have your own bottle) or a Frank refill bottle. You refill throughout the weekend from one of their fixed Refill Marquees or from the roaming FRANK Tank. Headlining the Main Stage on Saturday at Beautiful Days 2018 are the world-renowned Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers. Their new album ‘Resistance Is Futile’, which features lead single ‘International Blue’ is out 13 April 2018. Friday’s headliner cannot be revealed until June but headlining the Sunday night are festival founders Levellers who will close the weekend with a spectacular show including a firework finale. Also playing the Main Stage are gypsy punks Gogol Bordello, plus Shed Seven who recently released their first album in 16 years, indie-rock band Feeder who visit Escot Park for the first time, the sensational rhythm & blues band Vintage Trouble, Mercury Prize nominated indie rock band British Sea Power, rock band The Wildhearts led by the charismatic Ginger Wildheart, Dutch blues & funk band My Baby and Beautiful Days favourites Dreadzone. Completing the Main Stage line-up are Scottish punk band The Skids, Canadian Producer and DJ crew A Tribe Called Red, the mighty Dub Pistols, plus high octane folk rockers from Newcastle Holy Moly And The Crackers, Indian ska-dub band The Ska Vengers, cosmic band Henge, pop duo Rews, punk-rock quintet Ducking Punches, The Spitfires and singer-songwriter Emily Capell. We are pleased to be able to announce ticket prices held from 2016 and we now have 4 fields for live-in vehicles so are able to increase the number of passes available. We’re delighted to be able to finally announce the running orders and last acts for Beautiful Days for all stages. Please go to the festival website to see them all on the FESTIVAL LINE-UP page The line-up for The Bimble Inn has now been announced, they will be playing host to some fantastic up-and-coming acts, local artists and festival favourites. Their bill includes Asylums, The Eskies, Bill Baird, Xylaroo, Sadie Horler and Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs. There have been two late changes on the Main Stage and Big Top line-ups since we first announced them. Firstly, due to health reasons Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings are not able to be at Beautiful Days this year after having to cancel a number of European shows and secondly, Baaba Maal has cancelled his performance.
