One of the original US festivals, Lollapalooza was originally started in 1991 by Perry Farrell, singer for the band Jane's
Addiction. Originally the festival toured, but took a break in 1997 when the festival had issues finding a headline for 1998.
Re-instated in 2003 it is now based in Grant Park, Chicago.Many feel that Lollapalooza was the 90's version of Woodstock, going against the main-stream and playing some different different bands.
