The festival formally known as Hyde Park Calling is back at one of London's most historic and famous Royal Parks with a new
name - Hard Rock Calling. Now onto its third year the two day festival will again lean towards the sympathies of the older
festival-goer by booking classic bands alongside newer artists that will complement their sound.
Last year saw Peter
Gabriel, Aerosmith and the reformed Crowded House wow crowds on the main stage. Two other stages offer an alternative to
the bigger acts with the likes of Buena Vista Social Club, Seth Lakeman and Gareth Gates eclectically entertaining the audience.
The
event is non-camping and music finishes around 10.30pm which allows revellers to catch the last train home and get a decent
sleep in a bed. Food ranges from fish and chips to tofu burgers, but you'll still have to drink lager from cardboard cups.
